• Better Student-to-Instructor Ratio at 20:1 versus larger schools who have 300 to 400+ students in a class. We limit our enrollment to around 175 students per class.
• Each lineman instructor has at least 20+ years of experience.  Many schools employ young instructors who have only been linemen for less than 5-8 years.
• Diverse instructor staff. Many of our linemen have not only over 30 years’ experience but are well versed in substation, overhead distribution, underground utility construction, and transmission.
• Non-military boot camp approach.  We do not yell and degrade you as other schools do in order to “weed you out”.  Our instructors are patient, knowledgeable, constructive, and collaborative with students-not adversarial.
• NALTC has one of the largest training yards in the country on our 115-acre campus, and all instruction is done on our campus. We do not farm you out to other trainers in other cities to finish your schooling like other schools do.
• In-house FULL CDL training and testing facilities.  This cannot be emphasized enough as obtaining a CDL is critical to job placement, and NALTC makes obtaining a CDL very easy and affordable versus other programs.  MOST schools will help you only obtain the permit versus earning the entire CDL.  We do ALL of the training and TESTING in-house, on-site.
• NALTC has one of the highest, if not the highest, graduation and working placement rates in the country.  Click on this link to see the last 10 years of graduation and placement data.  The ten-year average is close to a 94% graduation rate and a 95% placement rate.  Placement is defined as working in the lineman industry.
• Career Planning Class. We conduct mock interviews in small groups to prepare you for both phone screens and in-person interviews. We help you write and publish a professional resume and cover letter.
• In-depth financial literacy course to help you understand how to manage your paycheck, save and invest, as well as how to be responsible with debt.
• In-person visits with some of the largest fiber/telecom and power contractors and utilities in the United States.  Many recruit specifically and only from NALTC.   NALTC has a database of over 1000 companies with whom we have historically partnered around the United States.
